Straight Talk coverage issue with LG Optimus Q

I bought the LG Optimus Q from Walmart in Feb 2102 as upgrade to non android ST phone. The Optimus worked great for two months and then I started getting no signal. ST "customer service reps" could not fix issue so they said to send the phone back and they would replace it free. New phone comes a week later and I activate it and still no signal! I took the phone away from my home and it started to work fine. Full signal and phone operated great all day long until I returned home that night and no signal again. ST reps could not figure it out. Said to send it back and would replace it again. I switched service back to standard non android Samsung phone which works on ATT towers and it works fine in my home. Androids for ST work on Sprint towers (so I'm told) I sent the LG Optimus back again and have another brand new one in my possession but I dare not activate it again because it will not get a signal in my home. Strange that initially I got a signal for two months with the android then it went away. I would like to get some use out of the LG Optimus android. Don't thing ST plans are gonna work for me. Any suggestions? Will this phone be able to work with any other carriers? I have it up for sale on Craigs List but no buyers. HELP Please!

Sprint sux. They have coverage issues since they lost out when alltel went to verizon.

No the phone is a straight talk phone and is not network flexible. It might be possible to flash the phone to another network.

Lots of sprint phones on sale on craigslist

If you get good service with the ATT based Straight Talk non-Android phone, you can use any ATT branded Android through the BYOD sim card. Straight Talk also sells one Android that works in the ATT network. I wonder if they would exchange them if you explained the situation?

Sent from my HTC Inspire on Straight Talk using HowardForums

That's a good suggestion. Wonder how helpful they would be?

    Angry update on this thread

    Update:
I received a message from Sara a Straight Talk Rep with promises of help from their customer support team. I thought, wow this sounds promising! So I followed the link and sent them a message. They responded and said they were going to "work on it" so I waited. That was in the beginning of July. I waited a few weekes and wrote again. No response. I wrote again to Sara and she responded with the same kind of email giving me the same email address with info to contact the support team. I did so again and copied Sara. Still no response. A few days ago I contacted Sara again and asked her why she even bothered to contact me with false hopes and promises because no one is doing anything to assist me or answer me. Today she responded that a "decision" was made that they cannot help me because there is no signal in my area. Duh, well who changed that? When I bought the phone in Jan it worked fine for two months and then something changed with the signal. I didn't move! Straight talk is responsible but wont fess up and wont give me a replacement phone. They are full of crap. BAD BAD company. I will not do biz with them anymore. BEWARE of this company. I'm going to look into legal action. I'm out $200 bucks for an Android that is useless. Why should I take the hit? Small claims court here I come. It will cost them more in legal fees to respond.

they are disappointing to say it nicely.

look on sprint coverage map and fin closet big sprint area and advertise it on craigslis tthere and see if you can get it sold.

people put up with these straightards because we pay 45 a month for service.

sprint is really at fault if i understand correctly. they own the towers and your tower backed out on you. the same thing happened to me when verizon pulled the rug out from under them. no service for me.
