    calling 1-900 numbers (PLEASE HELP)

    k so yesterday i called virgin about calling 1 900 and if i could do it and they said yes, provided i have balance on my account. so i go all the way to the mall and pay 30$ for a top-up ( i already have a phone with rogers, i just wanted this to call the 1-900 number). than i paid 8 bucks to unlock my phone and when i call the 1 900 number, it doesnt go through!!what the hell is this!!!?!!!?!? does someone have any experience with this sort of thing and how can i fix it??

    Calls to 900 or 976 numbers are NOT allowed from cell phones. Period!

    You also can NOT receive collect calls ON your cell.

    Just how it works in the mobile space.
