Yeah that's an older model phone that requires a hypersim. Any old hypersim works with 906 series. I still got a copy 3G-SIM hypersims I made from back in the days. It'll work on it.

I just won a auction on ebay for a used SH906i. The seller says it is unlocked.
I am new to unlocked phones and Japanese phones as well. I want to know a few things.
The phone doesnt come with a charger: is this a standard charger i can find at a store or electronic specialty store like radio shack or batteries plus?
The seller says the phone is unlcoked, but doesnt know to much about the phone itself. Will i need a hypersim, or can i unlock this phone in the setting of the phone.
The specs say 1900mhz for T-Mobile; Will i have problems with reception and SMS? I hear that Japanese phones don't allow MMS and even sometimes SMS in the USA.
Where could I pick up a replacement battery for this phone?
I want to stay local if possible if i need to get a battery or a charger for it. I am not to sure about this phone other than the specs and videos i watch about it, so i dont know what to expect. Just want to be able to use the phone for SMS and Calls at least.
Is there any thing i should know about this phone or ones like it that can cause service issues such as little to no reception, ect.
I would like to use this phone as one of my backup/ main phones. the current phone i have battery doesnt last long.
Also being a Japanese phone enthusiast it was a good win for fair condition of the phone so im not to worried of the physical condition of the phone.
Anyone know this model/brand that could inform me?!
Thank you!

Everyone's on their own for hypersims. I'm out har har har har har~~~~
Charger is all over ebay. Just search for FOMA '02 or sharp charger. MMS won't work nor will internet so you can stop thinking about that. You'll get the camera so it's not as useless and you'll get to call and receive SMS. You may have issues with CPRing. Some buildings in the city will be an issue.
Anywhere underground on the Red Line or even like lower wacker will have signal drops which will probably require a CPR of the hypersim.
OK. As far as CPR. I will have to put my similar and hypersim in another phone to regain signal then put it back into the sh906i? I recently ordered a mrsim off eBay. It was the only inevitable that seemed legit from the states.
Also will I get 3g with the Hypersim. I know that it's pretty much useless since data won't work, but I herd that 3g is less battery eating since it's newer technology.
I also would like to know if I will be ebale to outlook my contacts off or read contacts iffy my sim. I put my sim card only in the phone and it said unrecognized UIM of course but couldn't access the contacts will outing the hypersim allow me to get the contacts?
sorry for all the questions, since this is my first foreign phone. Have many questions.
I want to master reset my sh906i there is previous numbers in it front the last owner and I would like to start fresh. I didn't want to erase anything uet until I know what to do. It asks me for a sec code. I don't want to enter anything in fear I might permanently lock the phone up.
Thanks! :3
- For CPR'ing a phone, put only your sim in a native phone (hypersim isn't necessary). Make a call to verify that you have regained signal. Then put the sim + hypersim back into your keitai and you should be good to go ^___^
- For the contacts try putting hypersim + sim into the keitai. It should read all your contacts just fine (my sh-01b reads all my SIM contacts)
- I'm not too sure about the 3G or the master reset... someone who has an sh906i can help you with that c:
