Getting Phone for New Plan

Hi gang,

So got interesting question. Recently talked to Customer Relations about getting a new/updated plan, as I'll be upgrading to a smart phone. They ended up giving me a pretty good deal, but said I need to go to a Rogers store first to get the new phone, and once I've got it I need to call Customer Relations to switch to the plan they worked out for me. That sound right? I don't want to get stuck with the crappy plan that comes when I get the phone. In addition, can I get the phone and initial plan through say BestBuy, where I'll perhaps get gift card. Any help be appreciated.

Gift cards for Brand New Activations, However once or twice they have offered a Gift Card on Renewals but its usually for $25 or less. 99% of the time it's for new clients only
