I went from 3G to the Samsung Galaxy S3. No problems with keeping unlimited data.
The S3 is an amazing phone. If I could get it in a smaller package with a 4" screen I might force myself to give up physical qwerty keyboard phones.
Haha! The problem is I mainly stayed in metro Louisville, where Verizon LTE is solid (verses the outskirts where there is more extended LTE). When I would drive to other places, they either didn't have LTe coverage or I didn't notice any problems. Like I said, I never experienced the Nexus dropping LTE anywhere in Louisville, and it performed admirably in many other places I traveled to since December. That being siad, the S3 has more LTE bars in more places, and speeds don't dip as low as they did on the Nexus. I am traveling to Cedar Point in Sandusky, OH, and then to Columbus tomorow and will be able to compare the S3 and Nexus side-by-side for a better performance analysis. However, I already know the S3 is far better.
This phone is no MAXX, but the following screen shot should put you at ease: nearly 14 hours and still over 40% left. This is my day 2 with the S3, so I have been using it a lot! This phone even bests older 3G Android phones from yesteryear! Usage: WiFi is OFF. GPS is ON. LTE is ON. Bluetooth is OFF. Screen set to auto. Voice Wake is OFF. Used Tapatalk, internet, Spotify, GoSMS, and the camera quite a bit. No video watching.
PS: For those looking to disable LTE for whatever reason, Verizon has made it a chore. Here is how ya do it. Also, no word yet on how to disable the constant "turn your WiFi on!" notification. Blah.

Verizon Wireless: America's fastest, largest and most reliable mobile broadband network.

Verizon lied about Samsung locking the bootloader though. Shameful on their part.

Fiber backhaul for Verizon in Southern Illinois in 2013 - about time.
Glad to see it doing well (s3). I actually got an inc 4g which also has the s4 chip, and it is doing excellent on speeds and battery.
In los angeles was getting 50 mbps down, 25 mbps up. I'll post my battery life.

Can anyone with Verizon Galaxy SIII verify if Network ServiceMode is user accessible by dialing *#0011#
Should be lots of useful stuff there.

Trocks, Droid Life had posted instructions on how to turn off the WiFi notification.

The downside is the phone has to be rooted in order to do so.
