Question Any non-contract Fido activation WITHOUT activation fee?

I want to activate a Fido line without contract as backup. Is there any place that can waive the $35 activation fee? Thanks!

It'd be waived if you take a contract. Keep in mind that if you sign a contract without getting a phone subsidy, then you won't have any cancellation fees (other than the $12.50 admin fee). Unless you live in Quebec, then it's a $50 max without a phone subsidy.

There's still an activation fee when you do that.

If you have an iPad, you can activate an iPad plan and switch to a regular voice and or data plan afterwards.

There's an activation fee for activating any line without a contract.

Fido and Rogers were waiving activation fees for all iPad plan activations. Did they stop doing this?

Why not activate a prepaid service instead? This is the perfect backup.

OP, Bell is waiving activation fees on most 30-day plans AND offering a 10% discount on those rate plans when you don't go on contract.

    Perhaps something to consider...

According to the pamphlets, both Rogers and Fido prepaid data add-on exclude tethering. I need to tether with my PC sometimes.
