From what I've reading, could it be possible you guys have your BT enabled (connected or not connected to a BT device) while receiving or making a call?

    Something to try.
I think it has something to do with the sim .
Have used my GS3 for over a month with another carrier, never seeing this error, then it happens right away with a rogers sim.
    Can't be a coincidence.

I've had this with BT on and off, so I don't think this is a variable, not on my phone anyway.

Within an hour of activation of the sim.
That is right away to me.

And since i started using a different apn , it doesn't do it anymore.

Anyone with a non-LTE SIM, just your reg Rogers HSPA+ SIM have this occurring to their S3?

(My buddy says he doesn't have this issue, but he's one of those dudes that can't even operate a microwave and knows nothing about mobile technology)

EDIT: Homeboy is on Bell LOL

Which APN did you enter exactly? Also, will this APN work on LTE? I'm guessing no ... Thanks!

EDIT: Found the proper APN info and it works. No LTE, but I hardly use it anyway as it kills the battery too fast. Going to see if the error shows up in the next few days.

Well, there goes that idea. Both myself and my coworker got the error again even though both of us are using non-LTE APN.

If you reboot or shut the phone off, it will revert the apn.

It's odd that not everyone has this issue, I have a few friends using this phone on Rogers LTE and none have complained about this problem as of yet. I wonder what it is.

After a few weeks of it not happening at all for me, it happened two days ago. I turned flight mode on then off and was able to make my call.

This is with a different SIM and phone number than when it first was happening for me.

Found this on xda. Take it with a grain of salt. I'll believe it when I see the update myself.

Not sure if this helps but I sell cell phones and a memo was released by rogers stating its a error in the firmware and that when rogers reception drops or its out of range it will say this, instead of showing no signal. Its states rogers and samsung are working on a fix for it. Its probably more noticeable on the rogers network than others because they are currently working on expanding there network in most of Canada therefore its probably causing signal drops every now and then.
