HTC Inspire on Go Phone $25 monthly plan + data package

I bought a used HTC Inspire on eBay and popped my Go Phone (AT&T-branded dumb phone) sim card in it. I was not getting any service so I called tech. support and he told me that since the Inspire is a 4G phone I would have to go to an AT&T store and get a new sim for free. He made notations on my account so they would be sure to give it to me for free. However, after I ended the call with him the phone got service all of a sudden (maybe b/c he asked me for the IMEI and did something on his end?). Is it safe to now purchase a $25 monthly PIN and a data package PIN and apply to my account (right now it's only the $.10/minute) or do I still need to go and get the new sim card?

BTW, AT&T does allow a used smartphone on the Go Phone monthly plans and data packages, correct?

I would say so if its now working. I bought a samsung rugby smart on the 25 dollar plan with the 25 dollar data. Voice worked but data didn't so i called them up why data dosn't work and they told me because it was a 4g phone and 4g dont work on prepay plan.So if your data dont work you need to do the apn settings manualy.

Yeah I bought a used inspire in February. Do a search for the correct apn and you should be good to go.
