If you preserve your baseband for unlock, there is no way to test IOS 6 beta without giving up your preserved baseband. iPhone 3GS baseband unlock users can test IOS 6 beta, then restore back to IOS 5.1.1, flash iPad baseband, then downgrade iPad baseband to regain GPS, and only if their phone is older than week 28 of 2011.

Guess you didn't learn anything from our previous thread conversations

No need to go through all that trouble to return to iOS 5.1.1 - 05.16.05, all iOS Betas can be downgraded to whatever baseband that's publicly signed.

What words did you just quote? Eat them please. It says preserve for unlock...now think about it for a sec. If you update a iPhone 4 to IOS 6 beta which you're preserving a baseband for unlock..what will happen? Once you downgrade from IOS 6 beta to 5.1.1, you no longer have a unlockable BB, DOH!!! KEY WORD ***PRESERVE*** Can an iPhone 4S BB be preserved? NO!! Can a iPhone 3G, 3GS, or 4 BB be preserved? YES!! So, we're not talking about a 4S are we?

An iPhone 4S can obviously be downgraded from beta sure, since Gevey supports the latest BB with 5.1.1, not the latest iPhone 4 BB with 5.1.1 you see...

A little more reading comprehension, a little less pyro, imo.

I'm talking about your method of downgrading the baseband back to iOS 5.1.1 - 05.16.05 unnecessary, downgrading the baseband from any beta iOS works on all iPhone models, not just the iPhone 4S. I've personally done this with a 3GS, IP4 and IP4S in the past starting with iOS5 betas.

(You gotta do some homework and stop giving out false information)

We all know preserving your baseband for unlocking on iOS 6 or any future beta iOS is impossible, because of the final verification check of your UDID that's registered as a developer.

    Little history:
Apple use to disallow baseband downgrades of beta iOS in mid iOS4; this caused a huge panic for devs that wanted to return to a public build, since that beta ver was too sketchy to use as a daily driver. This happened on my buddy's iPhone 3GS on iOS 4 beta mid 2010, he got stuck in DFU mode and I had to pass him RecBoot to kick it out for him.

All this has changed after huge amounts of complaints from the Dev community, Apple now allows all iPhone models of basebands to downgrade to public signed ver near the end of iOS 4.

Still, preserving a unlock, key words... Even with the 3GS, you cannot unlock the latest 5.1.1 BB now can you, it requires iPad BB and then a downgrade if you want GPS back.

Until they add the ability to create custom NO_BB ipsw's in the jailbreak tools, you cannot preserve an unlockable BB and test IOS 6 beta(yes, the verification check will prevent such), you will always be downgrading to the latest BB that comes with 5.1.1 as a result of testing IOS 6 beta.

I wanna see you chew and swallow..what goes around, comes around, lol

First of all we don't even know the OPs iPhone device model, I'm stating your drowngrade method is unnecessary to return back to iOS 5.1.1 - 05.16.05 if whoever wants to test out beta ver of IOS and doesn't need to unlock.
Now moving forward here, it's common sense not to proceed to any iOS build, public or beta if you need to unlock and preserving the baseband is impossible due to the current time period. Yes you can go forth with the method you've stated, but is it worth it to lose your unlock (if you need it right away or in the near future) to test out a future firmware build? Not really, it's retarded to be honest with you and all this work so you can play with OS w/o cellular signal. You have a risk of bricking your radio if something goes wrong the baseband downgrading proceedure. Even if you have the first bootloader of your iPhone models (3G and 3GS), it's something you should think twice before proceeding. That's why Musclenerd has made re-tuned vers of Redsnow to help this downgrade procedure to run smoothly. Many users had so much problems trying to return to 05.13.04 from 06.15.00 with the first ver of Redsnow.
Re-flashing a phone's radio or bootloader unofficially is something most ppl don't realize is quite dangerous, I've seen all types of bricking from all manufactures over the years and it's not wise to be tampering with.

So in short if you can't preserve your baseband to "test" out a beta ver of IOS, don't bother proceeding.

My method of downgrade is for unlock(the iPad BB downgrade specifically) after the downgrade to 5.1.1 from IOS 6 beta, learn to comprehend please.

We don't know the model, but "Baseband preservation mode" only exists in Sn0wbreeze and creates NO_BB IPSW's which are only supported by a iPhone 3GS or 4, not a 4S. So we can only assume based on what info we do have.
