Unlocking the Mytouch 4g

I want to unlock my Mytouch 4g. Its currently up to date. I been to local stores and they offer me 50+ dollars to unlock and they dont tell me how or what they do to it. So I want to unlock myself. I been to websites where they send you a "Unlock Code" when you enter you IMEI number and such, but I dont trust what these sites will do cause they want me to pay first. I have no guarantee it will work. So I want to know what the best way to about unlocking the phone by myself or a trustworthy site to get it unlocked.

Also, I am looking to sell it if I get it unlocked. Will this raise the price if I sell it unlocked? Just a quick question.

I bought mine unlocked. But I'm sure you can just go to ebay and get a code for much cheaper. Just type in mytouch 4G unlocked code and then sort by lowest to highest price. You'll save yourself money and time, because you can do it yourself. I unlocked my sister's Motorola Bravo using a seller by the name of dr.unlockusa. He only charges 1.99 for the MT4G unlock code. So that's your bet bet.
