    End of contract question

    Hello all,

So i recently ended my contract with bell (soul sucking devils), and was quoted a final price of $472.29 in april. I made a payment may28th, then went back a few days ago to make the last payment and noticed another $150 charge that had never been discussed or mentioned to me had been added. I called bell and was told it was a data service termination blah blah , apparently data needs to be on the account for the 3 years (*cough**********cough*).

Now the way i see it is, $472.29 is a bit more of a reasonable number then $622.29 to end my contract. If it was ever mentioned to me that this additional charge would have been added i would have still been stuck in hell. Don't get me wrong i know i signed a legally binding contract to activate the phone and i accept that, what i don't accept is the fact that Bell is ok with being shady business people.

After getting no help from the ( Bell Canada Executive Office of Customer Relations - 1-866-317-3382 ) I have decided that I will call back again to see what they say, if there is no help i will pay cause i do not want my credit to be impacted.

Anyhoo what im really trying to ask now that you have the backstory, is - If i were too pay them $20 a week towards that final bill can they send it to collections still? I mean i think as far as they are receiving some sort of money from me they can't send it to collections or affect my credit right?

Thanks in advance any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

I thought there was a $400 maximum cap if you wanted out of your contract, regardless of how much time is left in it? $20/month remaining or a maximum of $400.

    Here it is - Section 20: http://www.bell.ca/Bell_Mobility_Ter...service#Ending

Are you going through a Bell store or a 3rd party dealer?

That's for the voice portion. Didn't you read all of it?

"and (ii) an amount plus applicable taxes, equal to the Data Credit divided by the total number of months in the SCP, multiplied by the number of months remaining in the SCP after termination, due to termination of your data plan or feature which you committed to receive during the SCP."

EDIT: As for the OP, you would need to talk to Bell and set up a payment arrangement or they could send you to collections at any time, even if receiving small payments.
