Where to buy bell sim card? Bell store didnt let me buy Sim card without having phone

    Hey,

Where else can I buy a bell sim card and activate it on my own by calling customer service?

I went to one of the bell store, but didnt have my phone on me, I asked to buy a sim card and they told me to show them the phone as they would need to activate the sim right away.....so they did not sell me the sim card.

Is there somewhere else I can purchase bell LTE sim? not microsim, the normal one.....

I honestly can say that every bell store in my town asked for a phone or they can't sell a sim, think its to do with commission?

Policy that nothing leaves the stores not active. That being said many reps are still stuck in the cdma days and policies from back then have carried over for some reason.

Your local Loblaws store (Loblaws, Superstore, some larger No Frills)

Find their prepaid phone display. Usually on the sides they'll have prepaid phone card vouchers - mixed in with those vouchers, they usually have PC Mobile and Bell SIM Cards.

Out of curiosity, is this policy set and adhered to by each individual store/manager independently as it suits them, or is it enforced on everyone by Bell corporate HQ across the board?

Stores do not earn revenue from Bell for unactivated sales.

Bell's policy is nothing leaves the store if it isn't activated. I am not in a position to disclose if this is monitored, especially in 3rd party distribution channels (dealers, Futureshop, Glentel, etc...) or not, because frankly, I don't know.

    This is not Bell policy
Lots of people even sell phones without activating them (The Source is really good for this)

The stores that insist on it are doing so for commission
It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer

Is it possible to buy a SIM card from Source or any other dealer and then activate it on a new prepaid line via Bell website online?

    Thanks.

I remember going that route once, and got slammed with a $50 activation fee if I wanted to activate it. No way around it.

Not sure if things have changed since (that happened about 8 months ago), but if you are to do that, why not just go to the store and get a prepaid sim activated?

As for getting a sim without activating it, you can go to bestbuy or futureshop for sure and get one.
