Got a code from Canada Gsm, put my sim in the phone and no code input dialog came up. Tried dialing 2945#*700# and nothing as well as *#865625#
Both come up with not registered on network, or invalid mmi code. The sim I'm using is a registered Virgin mobile sim, I've tried with a Bell sim too.
Any suggestions?

Yeah tried the code and inserting a non carrier sim. Bought directly from rogers, went to a store today and had the same issue with one of their l7.
But what you said about the phone already being unlocked made me realize perhaps the issue lays with the fact that Rogers has device ready to work on both Rogers and Fido.
Anyone have any other suggestions?
Every Android I've ever had simply prompts for the unlock code when I put in a foreign SIM. It's never failed on me, so I'm lost as to what you're having this issue.
Maybe LG did something different for their unlocking process which doesn't follow the standard Android unlocking procedure.
Most LG phones require the 2945 command.

Not all, I know my Optimus 3D unlocked by simply inserting a foreign SIM and punching the code, I figured the L7 would be similar since it's a newer phone.
