Was A New Customer for 2 weeks then I left T-Mobile

All I wanted to do was exchange a bad phone nothing more nothing less.

I was a customer on Verizon for a long time. In order to bring my parents into the 21st century with a smartphone I decided to join them on TMO with whom they were already existing customers for a family plan. I figured that it would be a win-win, my monthly rate would be less and they would upgrade to a smartphone for less money per month as opposed to going at it alone on an individual plan.

My parents upgraded to a myTouch and I ordered the HTC Amaze during the father's day promo. I received my phone but after using it just for a couple of hours it became hot. Not warm but hot. So I spoke to a CSR and I returned my phone. I spoke to a CSR again to make sure that they received the phone and I ordered my replacement Amaze. A few hours later a Supervisor left a voice mail informing me that the Amaze was no longer available and that I would have to order another replacement. So I spoke to a CSR and ordered a One S instead as my replacement. I never received an order number so I called a CSR and they had no record of an order. So I ordered it again and I was not given an order number. So I called the next day and order again. I think you get the picture.

My very short experience with TMO was awful. I was lied to by CSR's. I was told that the Amaze was no longer available but its still listed on the site. I was lied to by CSR's who told me that they ordered my replacement when they didn't and worst of all for every department I was connected to whether it was a CSR, Customer Loyalty or Sales the person did not have access to my account or case notes cause that was on a separate system.

So instead of reducing my monthly payment and getting a free phone and my parents upgrading to a smartphone I left TMO joined AT&T paid $199 for a GS3 and paying more per month than when I was on Verizon and my parents stayed with TMO but went back to a feature phone.

I could not go back to Verizon due to their Share Everything plans which are not geared for individuals. I would have had to pay $100 per month. I was paying $75 a month when I was on Verizon.

That does sound unfortunate. In my 11 years with T-Mobile, I've never had such an experience. You may want to try again. If saving money is something you really are wanting to do. Sorry you had such a horrible experience, I wish you the best in which ever provider you choose.
T-Mobile. Connecting you when you need it most... disconnecting you when you need to connect with God's beautiful creation! Service is great in cities and highways, but in rural areas they leave you with just your surroundings. I encourage you to get T-Mobile, disconnect for a while!

I am glad that God is not like cell phone coverage. He does not hide behind mountains or loose us down long windy roads. The Lord levels mountains, and He makes our paths straight!

I have never heard of this situation ever happening. You never know in the future I might try again. The unfortunate part is for my parents. I wanted them to upgrade to a smartphone.

I am on AT&T now and not because I wanted to. Verizon is to too expensive and the network on Sprint as far as data speeds are not good.

I think once all the carriers have finished their upgrade to LTE, TMO and AT&T will have the best data networks because their fallback will be HSPA+ which is faster than 3G on VZW and Sprint. That was a definite reason for me wanting to go to TMO.

Unfortunately, more and more people are getting poor service like this. It should be simple to switch out a bad phone, but I guess T-Mobile couldn't handle that.

I agree with this. Tmo and AT&T have good 3G speeds to fall back on.

    Exactly.

This is what is so sad about this situation. All I wanted to do was exchange a bad phone nothing more nothing less.
