Exclamation I need a P+ phone by Saturday. Best options?

Are there brick-and-mortar dealers where I can purchase a phone? If I order a phone directly from P+, will it arrive by Saturday?

I'm going to be in an area of the country where ONLY Verizon has coverage, and I want a phone that will work, as I'm expecting job interview calls next week.

I live in Cincinnati, OH, if that helps.

    Thanks!

Do you have any friends, family, or acquaintances that have unused Verizon phones laying around in a drawer. Any Verizon phone (non-prepaid) could be activated almost immediately on PP. Even a non-PP cell phone store probably has used Verizon phones laying around.

No, most everyone I know either holds onto their phones forever, goes prepaid, or goes with a local carrier like Cellcom or CellularOne. Sometimes U.S. Cellular.

You used to be able to buy phones at P+ dealers. What happened?

I'm going to be in the Verizon-covered area of Cherry County, Nebraska (Merritt Reservoir State Park). It looks like Verizon-flavored Straight-Talk/N10 will work out there, but their maps are non-interactive, so I can't zoom in to see for sure. And I happen to like P+.

Check your local craigslist and pick up a cheap phone. Make sure to check the ESN before buying.

Or, you can just grab a traditional Verizon prepaid phone at Wal-Mart for like $20. I think they come with $10 in free airtime, too.

The Page Plus site has a dealer locator. You could also look for postpaid Verizon phones on Craigslist, but make sure they have a clean ESN.

Just remember, you won't be able to use the Verizon prepaid phone on PP.

Craigslist for sure. My cousin's phone just busted and it took me 10 minutes to find a $25 phone. The advice given about clean ESNs and Verizon prepaid phones is key.

I guess I got lucky. I bought a phone from Craigslist and had a phone the next day. I didn't check the ESN.

If there's any place that is going to have B&M stores that carry pageplus branded phones its going to be Ohio.

I would call around the dealers in the area and check your Circle K's - that is if you want a PP phone and not just a phone to use on PP.

The dealer locator will show you any place that carries refill cards. The Speedway on Glendale does not sell phones . Up in Lafayette, IN, some of the Latino neighborhoods had B&M stores that sold PP branded phones as of two years ago, but I'm not sure if this is still the case.

This. Except I one-upped it and got a Verizon prepaid Gusto 2 from BeastBuy for $10, with $10 airtime. Since I have no intention of keeping the phone alive except when I'm traveling somewhere with only Vzon coverage, the high keep-alive costs are not an issue. If I'm going to be out of range of my GSM phone for a week, all I need to do to reactivate it is slap $15 on it with the $2/day plan and I have unlimited calling.

I lose my phone number, but since I use Google Voice, that doesn't matter. (Did I mention GV is the shizz?)

Also, this caliber phone would cost $30-$40 from PP, whereas it's basically free from Verizon.

    Thanks for your help, though.

Did you see what analogman posted above? Unless you get lucky, Verizon prepaid phones cannot be activated on PagePlus.

My intention is not to use this as a PagePlus phone. My intention is to use this on Verizon as a short-term adjunct to my existing phone, attached to my Google Voice number. I'm keeping it on the Verizon prepaid $2/day plan until I run out. Then, the next time I plan on being somewhere with Verizon-only coverage, I simply reactivate it.
