i have been searching all over the web and could not find a solution, after many youtube videos and google websites,
can i unlock these phones?
iPhone 4 ver. 5.1.1 baseband 4.12.01
iphone 4s ver 5.0.1 baseband 1.0.14

i put Cydia on each phone and tried using the SAMPrefs instructions and still i cant unlock it.
These are ATT phones and im trying to use it on T-mobile

can i still unlock these phones???

The iPhone 4 - not possible, unless you completed a 2 year contract with ATT or paid a ETF and requested a carrier unlock.

The iPhone 4S - Gevey Ultra S sim or paid an ETF from ATT.

The SAM unlock was blocked days after it was released, only works now if you used it then and backed up the activation tickets for each sim.

There are also 3rd party services promising to unlock a ATT iPhone via IMEI, but there are no guarantee's, Apple could disable unofficial unlocks at anytime.

Can i downgrade the baseband to unlock it or no? or is it the same for every baseband?

You need to go to iClarified dot com and read.

No basebands past 1.59 can be unlocked as of yet.

The "DEV Team" says they are working on it, but I think they are full of crud. (Bet I willl get flamed for this, but after all this time of waiting for an unlock, do you think I care?)

Best bet is a GEVEY chip. :/

Gevey doesn't work with 04.12.01 and you cannot downgrade iPhone 4 baseband.

Baseband can only be downgraded from iPad baseband on 3GS and 3G iPhone
