I got my Note about three months ago and while the reps and maps said I am in a good Lte area, but I wasn't! Baltimore is, but I'm about 10 miles away. I complained constantly because my phone was hitting on a Lte enabled tower that was so week my calls went to voicemail.
I'll be damned , today, this morning, I now have ATT Lte @ ~30Mbs!![]()

Right now AT&T LTE speeds are blazing fast. Of course there are very few LTE handsets clogging up the network. Wait until LTE iPhone gets release and see how the network performs. Going to be a lot slower (but still going to get 5-mpbs I am assuming with LTE iPhone congestion
In Orlando LTE speeds with art are super fast.
But I also have Verizon's service. I have noticed a big drop in Verizon LTE speeds in the past 2-3 months. Maybe cause more tourists are in town? More LTE handsets? I used to hit 20-30mpbs consistently with Verizon. Now hit between 5-10mpbs so definitely noticing much more traffic.
Saying that LTE is still going to be faster than HSPA plus especially during peak times.
I told ya they (carriers in general) don't usually start a new deployment launching with full site density but they will come back and fill in with the other sites later as needed...it's just the way it goes.
the new iPhone is probably going to ruin LTE on both networks for everyone lol.
Yeah my vz lte speeds have dropped to around 2-4. My att iPhone 4(non lte) is consistently faster than my vz lte speeds right now. It hovers around 5 and a half down.
I totally misread that at first. I thought it was a VZW iPhone and thought 'I was unaware cdma could hit those speeds...' haha. But yes, ATT's HSPA+ is really no slower or faster than my friend's VZW LTE.
I don't know anyone personally with ATT LTE, even though Phoenix has been lit up for a while. It's pretty fast still I'm told.
With work paying my att bill I can keep my vz lte without breaking the bank so it's nice to be able to play around with both(minus the lte on att until I upgrade)
Depends on where you are. The city nearest me gets 5mbps on HSPA+.
I usually support government regulation, but It is unfortunate that the government over-regulated and killed the AT&T/ T-Mobile Merger
The best explanation of the pricing nutiness in the industry.
Why Sprint and T-Mo will always suck.
The only way to end the pricing insanity is to eliminate contracts and subsidies.
I want Wifi calling on AT&T.
If you text while driving, you're an idiot. End of story.
I'm happy with the speeds on the iPhone 4. Consistently getting just shy of 6 down.
The price of a smartphone is $650. That's not gonna persist.
Dennis Woodside, CEO of Motorolahttp://www.androidauthority.com/moto...rategy-220042/Rolfe Winkler of the Wall Street Journal also thinks that these fighting words from Woodside should have “executives at Samsung shaking in their boots.” He also thinks that “folks at Apple should also be sweating.”
I'm getting 30 down on fios but the bill ain't cheap. Good product though with very few outages.
If I'm around 5 down on a phone I can happily do what I need with no issues so I'm happy.
It seems like no matter who you turn for your wireless data fix, you're still going to end up seeing slower and slower speeds.
I've also noticed for the most part, ATT LTE is faster than VZW LTE. But I'm not surprised by this because there are still many grandfathered, unlimited users on VZW's LTE and are not throttled, like myself. Whereas ATT is throttling unlimited data users on LTE after 5gb.
I'm curious of how Sprint's LTE network will fare as they are advertising it as unlimited without throttling.
I am also somewhat hoping the iPhone 5 still won't be LTE (fat chance), so those guys won't ruin it for the rest of us. Already whenever the iPhone comes around, things get worse for us. VZW got rid of their NE2 program, reduced their return policy from 30 to 14 days when the iPhone 4 came out, VZW and ATT got rid of unlimited data plans shortly afterwards. Sprint also reduced their return period and increased ETF fees and other fees after they got the 4 and 4S.
The iPhone brings nothing but pain and misery. The carriers lose money due to Apple screwing them over, but the carriers know most people demand the phone. So then they raise prices and whatnot to counter-act the losses caused by Apple. I hate Apple with a fiery passion.![]()
