Where's the dialtone?
It looks like I will be buying a Samsung Galaxy SIII soon. I travel from Canada to the US frequently and need a simple, easy and cheap way of getting my voice mail.
There are a number of Android Voice Mail apps available and the ideal one for me would download and store voice mails from Telus. It could store the messages on my phone allowing me to edit them on my own.
When in the US I want to get my voice mails without making a long distance call back to Canada.
Maybe Google Voice does this already but I haven't got that far yet.
Anybody got any good ideas or suggestions?

Google voice works well for visual voicemail, however in order for it to work you need setup conditional call forwarding to a US based number. You'll need a long distance plan so you don't pay through the roof when people leave you a voicemail. Alternatively you can forward your calls to a Canadian voip number which will then forward to a US number. I use google voice strictly for voicemail and I have calls conditionally forwarded to a Canadian magic jack number which costs about $20 a year and the Magic Jack is setup to forward all calls to my US google voice number.
You'll also need a US based number to perform the initial setup as well.
