I have an unlocked I-Phone 4s using a gevey ultra chip on it. Using T-Mobile service on it, everything working good on it except when it comes to texting on it. Sometimes it works for a couple of days and then it will stop working for a couple of days. Anyone have an idea on this? Thanks![]()

I now have my gevey for my 4s for about a week, I noticed that I also have texting problems. I can get texts but not send them out.
My iphone is jailbroken and I have a cydia and found a source named lei mobile that lets you edit APN
Before beginning, disable Wi-Fi by tapping to Settings > General > Network > Wi-Fi > OFF
On the iPhone 4S, tap on “Settings” , then tap on “General” and then “Network”
Tap on “Cellular Data Network”
Set the following configuration:
APN: epc.tmobile.com or in some cases use wap.voicestream.com
Username: Leave Blank
Password: Leave Blank
Set the following configuration under MMS: APN: epc.tmobile.com
Username: Leave Blank
Password: Leave Blank
MMSC: http://mms.msg.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 1048576
MMS UA Prof URL: http://www.apple.com/mms/uaprof.rdf
Tap on the Home button to save and exit out of Settings
Reboot the iPhone 4S
i did this twice within a week. I hope someone can figure this out.
If I need to text someone in a hurry and find out I need to reset and re enter all this data again, I won't be happy.
Hope this quick fix helps people.
I did more research and found out if you go into message settings. turn on "show subject field"
I type my text in the subject field and just put a random letter in the message field.
it seems to work, because if i send it normal way I get a error and it doesn't send.
thanks for the tip about using the subject field for texting.
I did even more research and found another solution. I have tried it and works.
go to your dial pad and dial **5005*7672*+12063130004# hit send. put this into your contacts so it's easier than punching in.
you will then see this message.
Setting Succeeded
Service Center Address
No Address
now turn off your iphone and turn it back on. let it boot completely without touching the phone until the screen goes black. Do not accept the gevey confirmation screen also.
press the home button and try to send a message.
this is also another temp fix. I have noticed in the past couple of days that when I go on wifi or my edge signal drops this will reset the phone back to cingular.
just have to check the cellular data network for all the settings I previously commented on and go and redial the number on top and go through the process again.
hope this helps
