Posted this in the speedtest thread but why not post here too.
beachlover333's reign may be over. The image was taken off a site and not my own so can't guarantee authenticity but if it's true that's prob. the highest speed possible on Wind's 21Mbps network.

No, according to me, Mobilicity doesn't have data, just mobile browsing with "traffic shaping". Mobi users jump for joy if they hit anything above a one.
As for calling a spade a spade, clearly all your postings try to bring Wind down to Mobi's level. But anyone who has tried both knows better. And cannot post speedtests anywhere near what I can post, any day, any time, with Wind's data. How about you post some Mobi speedtest results that you're getting and we'll let everyone else decide?
So this one's for you:
I've showed you mine, now show me yours......
And not a posting like this:

Anybody can do something like that. And anyone who does, I contend has set up problems that they cannot handle themselves
Here's when I tried Mobi, only last month, again, and only after repeated tests that were so slow, it wouldn't run the test.
So your contention that both new entrants, being Wind vs. Mobi, are basically the same, makes me laugh. One only needs to compare speedtests results posted on HoFo in the respective threads for that purpose.

You don't get it. My complaint is that at home, I don't have a proper signal with wind. I can't even do a speed test. Your speed tests are undeniably impressive. I am not your neighbor and so I can't share the joy. Other wind customers are also not able to get the same performance as you. So enjoy the service by yourself.

And this is the real point. Why should anyone jump to defend WIND and knock others based on their own experience and opinion of some speedtest.net image (which can really easily be faked both for pro and con reasons). When it really is just about community out-reach and scoping for others reactions/experiences so that we can gauge if we're fully enjoying it.
Good post Will.
Thanks for being realistic. This thread was started because subs are not getting good data performance. Along comes this statistical outlier trying to say it isn't so and boasting how he can get wireless speeds that rival home internet performance. It has a counter productive effect. Rubbing it in our faces merely raises our hatred for the service which appears to work only for the select few or should I say the one and only. I have never boasted about data performance on either Wind or Mobilicity. I don't have illusions of grandeur. All I am looking for is getting a descent signal in as many places that I frequent as possible. Since beachlover wants to see what kind of performance I get with wind at home so badly, I will oblige.

I've always believed the fanboy is always more damaging to the company's user base than the actual antagonists.
For further evidence visit any thread where a customer has an issue on http://community.windmobile.ca/windmobile
and see how the fanboys respond. 9 times out of 10 is with heavy sarcasm and really bullish behaviours.Warren is a delightful example of fanboy-douchery.

I guess it really depends on your location, so it's good to hear from all the different users to get a sense of where the signal is good/bad.
I'm in the South Burnaby (northwest of Edmonds Station) in Greater Vancouver. I usually get around 4Mbps down and 300-350Kbps up.
In contrast, I have 0-1 bar when I tried Mobilicity for a week and data was not worth mentioning. Mobilicity was good everywhere else I tested, except my home neighborhood. Strange...
Warren's ilk goes through every thread here and rates it 1 out of 5. Dude needs a life.

If that's true that's sad.
Although Warren is an example, I by no means single him out.
There are others who play into the same game and even carrie it over here. So those who rank 1/5 stars for no random reason other than to prove some mundane subliminal point, are wasting their time. It hasn't stopped threads from exploding with excellent conversation because it was ranked 1 star. Maybe they think their stars mean something on the "Get Satisfaction" system. But hardly hold an ounce of significance here in the HoFo WIND forums.![]()
