    Guys,

I had been thinking about picking up one of the Walmart Virgin Mobile MiFi 2200 for the past month or so. The local Walmart had them on display back in June, but the disappeared a couple weeks ago. I checked online and noticed they disappeared. I did a Google search and found the original link. They were still available and they showed as in stock at my store. On Monday I stopped by to pick one up. I had the product number from the website and the sales clerk had to go in the back to look for one. She came out with one and it was $99.96, the price advertised on the website.

I got home and opened up the box. No instructions or any kind of quick start guide. I turned it on and connected to it with the credentials on the back of the device. I went through the activation process and got to the plan selection page and saw only the $35 and $55 plan were available. After several calls to customer service I was finally able to get the device actived with the "Walmart $20/1Gb" plan. The customer service representative mentioned that the Walmart plan was discontinued on July 27, but he was able to add me under the Walmart plan. It did take about fifteen minutes for him to check and see if he could.

I'm guessing Walmart is pushing their "Internet to go" mifi which is not as good a deal for a low level user?

For a very low level user the "Internet to Go" is potentially a better deal since the unused MB you paid for doesn't expire after a month.
