Smart Email & Internet 1GB North America

Just wondering, I was checking out my add on options and noticed this on there...

Smart Email & Internet 1GB North America
    $45.00/mo.
1 GB of data usage for Personal Email, Instant Messaging, Internet and Tethering.
    Additonal Data Usage :
in Canada : $0.25 per MB
in US : $0.25 per MB

So with this one plan...is this the same as "travel us data" cause if so than it is much better than paying 50bucks for 25mb of data roaming charges..
    any input or anything guys

I am regularly in the US, and have this permanently on my phone. Don't know why people get the travel plans.

Can you go on this m2m? But I'm guessing it cannot co-exist with the $30/6GB data on the same plan.

Bell, offers virtually everything on MTM. It cannot co-exist with any other data plan. This is not a travel pack, this is a data add-on just like 6GB for $30. Designed for customers who travel very frequently between Canada and the US.

oh really..that sucks, I was thinking I will add this data plan on to my existing data plan and just remove it after 30 days....there is no way around it..?

You've been given correct information already; this cannot co-exist with another data plan as it is a full data plan.

Im heading to the US in 9 days and thinking of adding this plan on. Im currently on the 6GB for $30, my only concern is that when I get back (Sept 6), will the 6GB plan still be available to me.

can anyone confirm this...appreciate your help

Some people have 6GB plans and cannot switch.

You'll have to negotiate this with retentions.

    1. Change data plan to NA data plan
    2. Future-date the reinstatement of your 6GB

The above IS possible, but only through retentions / loyalty. Even if they end the $30 feature in loyalty, because it was future-dated in the system for reinstatement, you will be OK.

Thank you for the quick response. Is the 6GB plan only available via retentions now? Regular reps are not able to add it on anymore?

Correct, some reps may "have access" to it, but it is indeed a retentions version that is in the system now.

Also be aware if you're in the middle of your bill cycle and you could potentially be hit with PPU data charges due to the proration.
