Smile On a quest to activate old account...

I am on a quest to activate my old Sprint account, it's been dormant since 2009 when I ported to T-Mobile due to moving outside the Sprint coverage area. I am calling to get it reactivated since I've moved back into a Sprint service area.

Account Services put in an application to re-activate the account with a new number, and now I am on the line with Escalations to process the application. Let's see how this goes, it'd be nice to get my plan back.

    Here's what I had...

    1050 Anytime Minutes
    Unlimited Incoming Calls
    Unlimited 5PM N/Ws
    Unlimited SMS/MMS
    Unlimited PowerVision
    Unlimited PAM
    Unlimited Direct Connect
    Unlimited PCS2PCS
    Pick5
    PCS2Home
    Sprint2Home
    VoiceCommand
    $10.00 Loyalty Credit

    $26.73/month after taxes.

T-Mobile. Connecting you when you need it most... disconnecting you when you need to connect with God's beautiful creation! Service is great in cities and highways, but in rural areas they leave you with just your surroundings. I encourage you to get T-Mobile, disconnect for a while!

I am glad that God is not like cell phone coverage. He does not hide behind mountains or loose us down long windy roads. The Lord levels mountains, and He makes our paths straight!

Now talking to Executive Services, since Escalation wasn't able to get it... this is interesting...

Now Executive Services has put in a ticket for Employee Care to restore the account (since it's SERO based). So, I'll be waiting for Employee Care to call me this weekend with a result.

I can't say their not trying. I'm very impressed with their determination.

Alright! I called Employee Accounts and she did see all the notations on my account from Account Services, Escalations, and Executive Services. She is on the line with Employee Services right now to get it re-activated.

She says the account did not go dormant in their system until 2011. Yet, they are unable to re-activate it on their system; so I'm going to be talking with Employee Services next...

To the best of my knowledge, accounts are usually only able to be restored for ~90 days after a number has been ported out. When you say "dormant" was the account closed or was it just suspended like on a vacation plan or some such?
    Thrill me...

I won't lie, I kind of hope you don't get your plan back. I know most of those retention codes were added when there was the URL loophole. But hey, more power to you if you get it.

How much time and effort do you think sprint is exerting in an attempt to bring back a ridiculous, unprofitable plan? Absurd. They should have laughed you off the phone on your first call.

Still, in the spirit of bleeding our corporate overlords good luck!

I am totally behind you and hope you get your whole plan back. Heck, even if you have to sacrifice some of it, still totally awesome.

They've convinced us to pay for these networks multiple times over and this stuff should be at commodity prices by now. I'm glad to know some can get it at such rates.

For them to reactivate it, I need to reset my security PIN.

I went to the retail store, but they weren't able to reset my PIN because I am only the authorized user and not the account holder... so they are sending my current PIN and account information to my home address. We are still trying, and they have not given up!

When I receive that I will call in and change the information.
