You can check the diagnostics and see it gets deleted. Mine only go back from the date I did a clean restore and I had the phone jailbroken before that.
I believe there is a way to delete them without being jailbroken as crash reports are not hidden from the user.
It should be in a folder on your comp, I had an app developer ask me to copy a crash report to him since the app kept crashing. I was able to see the crash reports on the computer.

There is. You should be able to delete crash and other system logs through both the iOS Configurator and XCode.
