Cell Phone left in car found dead.

My friend said he left his cell phone in his car while at work and now he found it dead.

The car was hot but he said he left it under some papers.

He has 2 batteries and neither will power it up.

    Any suggestions? It's a Virgin Mobile pre-paid.

Sounds like your friend is SOL. How hot was it? What type of phone was it?

So he has two batteries, at least one of which was not heated, and a charger. It worked before but it does not work now. Maybe he should contact V.M. to see if he could do a phone swap.

I could try that but I don't think they do that sort of thing do they?

...and it has been really hot here in Ohio. I imagine close to 90.

Not sure. Have never owned V.M. phone. T-Mobile did something like that for a friend who's prepaid got soaked and he lost the SIM (too much beer at beach party).

"close to 90" Hot? Nah. That ain't even close to hot. Think about Arizona where the ambient air temp can get around 120 and the inside of the car gets much higher. That's why I question the phone being dead. They are designed to take much worse than that.

Just some information that i got to gather about the Heat and the Battery.

"Heat and vibration are a battery’s two worst enemies and can lead to internal breakdown and eventual failure. . Summer heat also causes battery fluid to evaporate faster." Could that be the reason?
