I wanted to post a thread up about my new HTC-One S and the service issues I have been experiencing. I have noticed in day 3 of having the phone that in areas where in the past with my Vibrant there would be low 3g Service or mostly Edge that the One-S is dropping out of coverage completely. I went through a good half hour on my drive home yesterday where normally there is at least 2G service to having no coverage. What's causing this? I was beginning to wonder if the One-S had any known issues with tower hand offs between the spectrums but the downgrading of 2G and refarming has me wondering. Can anyone shed any light?
I should add that the One-S is not connecting to 3G Service at all, I've only seen 4g or 2g.
The One S won't show 3G coverage. The One S doesn't have good reception at all. Get the Galaxy S III

Coverage will expand to 100 million LTE pops for the first half of 2013, with the second half of 2013 expanding to 200 million POPs covered. Release 10 LTE (2×10, 2×20) will be better performing than all other competitors.

My 2g has been slow today in Wichita on my Droid 3. Maybe it is a refarm effort?

I should probably open a different thread, but I'm leaving open the possibility there could be refarming at play. I am trying to diagnose this myself before returning the phone within the 14 day period to TMobile. I drove through the patch of area last night with both Pandora and GPS running. I did not drop service through the 8 mile stretch and only lost a signal at one part on a major thoroughfare which is a known dead-spot. This morning, however, things were different. As soon as I reached the 8 mile stretch I lost service. It completely went to 'x' and I never even picked up a 2g Signal, let alone GSM to make calls. I had no service. I normally have 3G on this stretch, and have had it for 10 months now since driving this route. I reached closer to my destination and service resumed only when I exited the Google Maps/GPS application. Is there a correlation with the Maps application, GPS, with the HTC-One S being unable to transition between different towers or spectrums? Please let me know. I have not bothered calling TMobile yet as I don't want to go through their rhetoric until I've isolated all possibilities. I have read about the One-S having signal retention issues, and verified my new handset has the latest July update to ICS. I'd appreciate any added advice anyone can provide. No signal issues at home, which is a good thing-- just while driving an using Maps with Pandora at the moment is where I'm shutting down.
Update-- I called Care and spoke with Tech Support. They put a ticket in and said there were no issues with the area. They weren't really helpful and pushed me to factory reset. I am still in buyer's remorse on this phone. I drove the same route the next morning and held onto the 3G/4G signal. Since I've driven this for over a year now previously with my Vibrant I know the issue can't be isolated to the handset. It has all of the latest builds as well. I did experience a drop but it was closer to the bottom of the 8 mile stretch. I kept the phone on GSM/WCDMA Auto-- which is funny because when I asked the tech what this setting should be on he became defensive and said TMobile does not tell customers what to put this on and that I would have to Factory Reset to put it back on the setting it should be on.
