whats wrong? why is this not working?

i just bougt a sidekick lx 2009... old i knw.. but i didnt wanna spend alot of money and they had a qwerty keay board so i thought id try it... well i also bought an at&t go phone 25 prepaid plan... so i stuck it in the side kick. and it works great.. i love the phone... execpt for one problem... i cnt send or recieve any mms messages.. and idky.. it says something about apn or something like that.. i dont knw what im doing.. and i just need some help. can i ever get mms messages on this phone? will it never work because its a t mobile phone? can anyone help me?

The phone worked correctly only on the T-Mobile network. It is no longer supported. Any references to it have been purged from the T-Mobile website.

What's your model number?

Sharp PV300: Original Sidekick LX 2009
Sharp PV300G: Mobilicity Mobiflip

Those two are pretty much locked to T-Mobile and Mobilicity, respectively. If you have one of those, you're out of luck.

Sharp PV300GC Cincinnati Bell Sharp Jump
Sharp PV300GR It's a Sharp Jump with T-Mobile Branding, but no Danger/Sidekick branding.

These two have options to change the APN and MMS settings, so you can use them on other networks when unlocked.

If you can go from the main screen to the Settings, and scroll down to Network Options, see if there is an option for Network APN. If so, enter:

APN: wap.cingular
Username: *leave this blank*
Password: *leave this blank too*

Then select Set APN. If you can do that, you should be able to also set up MMS.

For MMS, go to Multimedia Messaging, press the menu button, and go to Settings> Accounts. Press the menu button again and select New Account.

Under Account Details:

Account Name: AT&T
MMSC Address:http://mmsc.cingular.com
Proxy Address:wireless.cingular.com
Proxy Port:80

Under APN Details:

APN: wap.cingular
Username: *leave this blank*
Password: *leave this blank too*
