R355c: Verizon, no predictive text or auto correction while texting (could be an asset depending on your preference), absolutely the best signal reception, poor screen resolution. I remember the phone has a glitch that while the keypad is locked and you receive an incoming text and you accidentally press any button then the notification goes away. May seem kind of minor, but I always had that nagging feeling to constantly check my phone for new messages. Couldn't rely on the reminder beep. For example, if you had the phone in your pocket, get a message, move just right and press a key then no reminder notification. Or your in the car with the phone on the seat and your grocery bag rolls onto the phone--bam! no notification. Looks like a Blackberry but is a basic flip phone in sheeps clothing! Works awesome if all you want is basic text/talk.
900g: AT&T (mostly), good screen, many more functions than 355c. Can download apps like Opera Mini, web browsing isn't that great but is better than 355c. I think USB transfer works for ringtones and images (been a while since I used this phone, sorry!) Signal reception started out ok but seemed to degrade after a couple of months. That is why I quit using it. I know it sounds weird but I have a co-worker with this phone and he was recently complaining of the same signal issue.
If I had to choose I'd pick the 355c simply for the amazing signal. I could eventually get used to the keypad lock/notification issue. Of course I live in mountainous terrain and Verizon coverage is head and shoulders above AT&T here. If you have a consistent AT&T signal you might do alright with the 900g. Of course, if you can wait a while there are a couple of new phones coming: 530g and EX431g. Might be better than either of these two...
