Why is IMS not gaining traction with the mod community? From my limited understanding IMS was developed by Movial and T-mobile to replace UMA for wifi calling. They even have open sourced it in December, 2011. I would think that there would lots of ROMS sporting IMS, but I haven't seen any. Even the open source project doesn't show much activity. Is it that wifi calling just not such a desirable feature anymore, or are people happy with the kludge of Grooveip, googlevoice etc?
Most developers just repackage stock roms that already have IMS which is a huge reason why you don't see them taking advantage of this. Maybe Cyanogen Mod should incorporate it seeing as how the head MF in charge has T-Mobile.
