Does IM tab in Phonebook work on any phone?

On my SH-01D, in the original Docomo Phonebook app, when viewing/editing a contact's profile, there's an "IM" tab. I have added the Skype name of some of my contacts there and I'd expect that Skype will launch or at least something will happen when the tab is tapped. Well, nothing happens...

So, my question is, does this work for anyone, on any Japanese Android (not just Sharp) where you're using the default Contacts app?

It does seem to establish contact with Skype - after I added the Skype name of a couple of my contacts, their Skype photos were added to the profile but that's all. But nothing more...
