OK so when ever I turn my phone off and back on I have a voicemail notification but no voicemails. Can't make it go away unless I call myself from a different phone and leave a voicemail. Anybody know how to stop this from happening?

I tried that it just tells me I don't have any messages. But the notification stays until I delete an actual voicemail

Rebooted notification still there tells me I have two messages on the drop down menu call voicemail say no messages hit * to exit notification still there. Like I said if I get an actual voicemail message and erase it the notification does go away. Its just an annoyance that it does it to begin with when ever I turn off the phone and back on.

did some searching online apparently this is a common problem. anyway did a factory reboot and even after that the notification was still there weird right. so i download all of my apps back and set my phone back up the way it was and like 20 minutes later it just disappeared i don't know why or how but i hope it doesn't happen again.
must of been a simple glitch. glad u sort it out.
I had the same issue with my Esteem, I contacted MetroPCS and they had to clear something in the voice mail system on their end. It seems like crossing between certain towers can cause this issue. I know that if I have even a saved VM and I cross between Volusia and Seminole counties in FL my phone will act like I have a new message and I'll have a hard time clearing it because in reality... I don't.
never had this issue weird

Having worked with PBX phones and phone company voicemail for the home I can try and assist you. What happens is the phone company sends a signal to turn on the voicemail waiting indicator and when you go in to listen to your new messages and delete the old ones that signal stops getting sent. This is the same thing for cellphone companies. What you need to do is go to your settings messages and under voicemail it should say"Clear Voicemail/Turn off indicator etc" . Another reason for this message indicator is for a new text message. Go and see if there is a new text message. If not and your still getting these sporadic voicemail indicators ask MetroPCS to reset and rebuild your voicemail, text, data account. You will lose voicemails so be sure to listen to them before they do this.
After they rebuild your account with the new voicemail mailbox and with the phone on go ahead and remove the battery for 30 seconds to a minute and then do a *228 option 5 to reprogram the phone. If this does not work Metro may need to restore your phone and save your contacts. If this still does not get rid of the problem then you may need a new phone.
At my home I have a Nortel PBX system that I setup and this system works exactly like phone company voicemail. When there is a new message the message waiting indicator light flashes and sometimes when I go into the Nortel Call Pilot to delete the message my message waiting indicator does not turn off. So I have to go into the administrative log on to clear the message waiting indicator.
I hope this helps.
