    No Canada service

I posted a thread in the general prepaid area concerning prepaid in Canada. I was unhappy because Page Plus Customer service assured me my MOT Razr(Page Plus branded) phone would roam. IT DID NOT. No texts or voice. Calls to it went right to voice mail. I emailed them and haven't gotten a response yet.
See the thread in the other section if more info. is needed.

What other section? How about a link?

Based on what I've read from other posts on various forums, roaming on PPC is hit or miss. PPC roaming works in some areas, but not in others. Until reports start indicating otherwise, I think it would be best to NEVER count on roaming on PPC. It is too bad, and it shouldn't be that way, but that seems to be the way it is. Until PPC roaming becomes reliable, in my opinion, it is best to only count on PPC's native network. Whether or not any of the reports of failed roaming were due to NON-updated phones, I really don't know.

In the meantime, I'm going on a road trip, and I'll do *228, Option 2, just before I leave, and no guarantees, but if I hit a roaming area, I'll attempt a text and a call, just to see what happens.

My PagePlus phones seem to work fine here in Saskatchewan, where I live and normally park myself , but I had trouble using PagePlus when I was in Newfoundland three years ago so there definitely seem to be some issues. (My Canadian postpaid phone didn't have coverage in one area of Newfoundland where we stayed, so PagePlus seemed attractive as a temporary substitute. Alas, no.) SaskTel here, Bell/Aliant there.
GSM: SaskTel Canada (postpaid voice + data), Rogers Canada (postpaid data), T-Mobile US, AT&T US, Red Pocket Mobile US, Orange UK, 3 UK, Swisscom Mobile Switzerland, tele.ring Austria, airBalticcard (Estonia)

    CDMA: PagePlus US

    GSM phones: iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, Nokia Nuron (AWS 3G), Otech F1 (quad-SIM 2G GSM), Nokia E63, Sony-Ericsson K610i, Sony-Ericsson Z310i. All unlocked.

When I emailed CS last month I received a response that it would roam and was given a link to this. I think someone reading this would think it would work there-else why give prices and say this. If they have roaming agreements with only some carriers how would I know that. FYI my neighbors VZ phone worked fine.

    "International Roaming

    What is it?

International Roaming allows you to use your Page Plus phone outside the United States.

    How much does it cost?

The cost for International Roaming depends on the country you are in:

    Country Voice Calls
    (per minute) Send Text
    (per message) Receive Text
    (per message)
    Bermuda $1.10 50˘ 25˘
    Canada 60˘ 50˘ 25˘
    Mexico $1.10 50˘ 25˘
    Puerto Rico &
    US Virgin Islands 60˘ 50˘ 25˘
How do I add it to my plan?

International Roaming is automatically included with Page Plus service.

    How do I use it?

When traveling in a supported country (listed above), simply use your phone normally"

PPC would say your phone was roaming... it just didn't pick up any supported networks PPC uses in the part of Canada you traveled to... DAH! :P

You are correct. I received a reply to my CS email and this circular logic is pretty much what was said. They also stated that the map shows area of coverage and the link they supplied was a map of only USA coverage. There were TMOb, VZ and Sprint phones on the trip and they all worked-so its not a reception issue. Who does PP have roaming agreements with in Canada-no carriers in the area the kid's trip them to.
