Awesome! Are you rooted, or were you able to use the installer on Google's site? I tried it, but apparently manually updating is disabled in ics?

I've updated my Nexus S (T-Mobile, Wind AWS variant) to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean a few hours ago and have been testing it. So far I like the taste of it! I connected to wifi to make the download faster.

I have confirmed that the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S and Nexus One (HTC Passion, Google Phone) from Mobilicity are unlocked. I have used them successfully on both the Mobilicity and Wind Mobile network.

I successfully performed an update on my Wind Nexus S using the following procedure as found on the xda site. I had to repeat this procedure only twice to force the update.

It took me about 10 minutes to get Jelly Bean on my phone. it works great and smoothly as hell.
cya and good luck
I did this over the air with stock ICS 4.0.4. No rooting or forcing the update, just a check-in in the settings menu. I seemed to work better with wifi though, as using my mobile network seemed to be taking forever.
However, my wife's Nexus S on the same network has not received any update notification, even with doing the check-ins, so ymmv.

My wife's Nexus S (9020A) got it this afternoon OTA.
Cell phone history:
Motorola DPC 550 -> Ericsson DF388 -> Sanyo SCP-4000 -> Samsung SCH-N150 -> Samsung SCH-T300 -> LG TM520 -> LG VX-4600 -> BlackBerry 6750 -> BlackBerry 7250 -> Samsung SGH-807 -> T-Mobile Dash -> Motorola RAZR -> BlackBerry Bold 9000 -> BlackBerry Torch 9800 -> Samsung Galaxy S Captivate -> Samsung Nexus S -> Samsung Galaxy S III LTE
I didn't have to force stop. I just went to System Updates after that, and there it was.
Have had 4.1.1 for 3 days now and my battery life has been horrible no more then 8 hours before phone dies anyone else have battery problems?
Battery life seems to be the same on my NS. If you're using Google Now a lot, that's probably it. I've found it to be a battery hog.
I found 2 major problems with jellybean with nexus s..
First of all, wifi sucks.. I use wpa enterprise network at work and After updating to JB I can't stay connected for long.. wifi restarts every few mins..
Another problem is battery life.. uses about 20 to 30% more battery..
Any idea when will we get new update to solve wifi issue???
Thanks

My Nexus S battery is draining in 4 hours with the phone idle. I've turned of all syncing on my accounts but that doesn't seem to help. My phone is unusable right now. Is there any way to go back to a previous OS version?

I think the poor battery life might be a combination of Google Now running coupled with the fact that my Nexus S is almost 2 years old and the battery is losing capacity due to aging. It also seems like Jellybean uses way more RAM. The phone gets hot quickly when multitasking, things start slowing down (not so "buttery") and I only have 30-40 MB of RAM free. A hard reset fixes it temporarily until I start using the phone throughout the day for multiple functions. I'm still a fan of JB, I just think the hardware is showing its age.![]()
I just picked up a used Nexus S from Cow boom (mint condition) and haven't noticed any battery life change after the JB update.
