Any way without data network to have all texts coming from google voice number

When I travel abroad data is expensive so I cannot use the google voice app (which texts over data network) to text. Is there any way to have the texts from the native app be identified as coming from my google voice number as opposed to the phone number on the foreign SIM card. Any third part texting apps with a setting to use your google voice number as identification? The signature feature in some third part apps helps but it is still confusing when people see a foreign phone number rather than my google voice number. Thx.

Here is what I was going to say:
There are two ways that come to mind. 1 - If you're texting someone else's GV number (and your mobile number is associated with your GV account), there's a setting on the GV site that will automatically replace your mobile number with your GV number. I believe this is enabled by default. 2 - If you receive a text to your GV number and have it forwarded to your mobile number, when you reply to that text, it will actually go to a proxy controlled by GV. From there it will get forwarded to the intended recipient with your GV number as the source. So if you have received texts from everyone you want to send a text to, you can do it that way.
Off the top of my head, I can't think of a way to send a text to a new number from a GV number without using data of some kind.

Actually, now that I look at your message again, I doubt any of this will work. Where are you traveling? Because GV won't work with most foreign numbers. The only way to text from GV then would be by using data of some sort - either through an app or online. At least, that's the only way I can think of.

Voice assigns an email address to all SMS contacts, so if you have access to email anywhere (internet cafe, whatever), you can email your SMS and it looks completely normal. To see the addy, turn on the "email notification of SMS" setting (or whatever it's called) and it'll be the FROM: field of that contact's SMS.

I do this from work where I have email access but no data most of the time.
