    Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ on prepaid

I am having a hard time getting answers and hope someone can help. I have the HTC Wildfire s which I have grown out of and want to get the latests Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ with jelly bean 4.1 purchased from an American friend and shipped up here to me.

I know about the phone look up tool but I don't have an IMEI ID because I don't have the phone.

My question is has anyone got the Galaxy Nexus on prepaid? Are there any issues or am I good to go?

I have found out that Virgin won't sell just the phone which I would be willing to buy even at the inflated price and I have hit road blocks as they seem to not want to support or offer any guidance and why should, I know it is just business.

Any help or clarification would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Since the Galaxy Nexus is unlocked and pentaband it would have no issues running with your VMC SIM card. You may need to add the APN for data once you have your SIM in place, but that's simple enough.

Just wanted to update my thread here.

I am on the $35/mo virginmobile prepaid plan with 150 anytime minutes, unlimited incoming, weekends + evenings from 7pm and text to Can & US and 100mb of data for $10 which I absolutely love, it is a great deal.

I ended up purchasing a Galaxy Nexus off ebay for $426 tax in as I was not allowed to purchase a GNex outright unless I was on a contract. I made sure the ebay seller was legit.

Anyways the phone is great and I was able to switch my HTC Wildfire S sim card and put it in my GNex and it worked perfectly with no problems whatsoever.

It was running Android 4.01 and I was able to update fairly easy following instructions from "theandroidsoul*com/update-galaxy-nexus-jro03h-jelly-bean-aosp-rom-android-4-1-1/" something I have never attempted before and now I am running the latest Android build which will update itself when an update is available.

I travel to Ireland from time to time and I will now be able to purchase a sim card and use my phone when abroad.

This is such a convenience and I hope is a sign of things to come.

I've used the GN (bought in Europe) with a Dutch sim, GB sim, Tru sim, Rogers and Telus. It all works and so to the other Canadian providers
I will never, ever go into a contract and pay $20/m MORE for 3 years just to finance a phone... I pick 'm up unlocked for $400 oversees and sell them two years later for half that.

The $35 prepaid plan is one of the best prepaid plans available in the market, having said that on Fido has a prepaid plan in Vancouver only for $39 you get unlimited local calling and you can add data $10 for 100MB, also you paid little too much for a galaxy nexus, they go for as low as $275 on buy n sell sites.
