Lightbulb Getting a good deal out T-Mobile for thier mistake

I been with T-Mobile since 2005. I have never had any issues with them. But about the beginning of May I noticed some changes being made to my account without authorization. Apparently someone got access to my account and used my 2nd line oos upgrade. In the process they also changed my 700min plan to 1000. My data plans from $20(unllimited) to $25(cap). My unlimited texting $9.99 to $20. The biggest changes was the removal was my lost of MyFaves and then renewing that contract for 2yrs.

Apparently a authorized user got onto my account without permission and got a Blackberry Curve or some sort at a T-Mobile store. It was crazy because they got on my account the same exact day and made the changes. Even paid my balance with a check(which later bounced). I don't even pay with checks. I explained to them all the changes made to the account made no sense based on what I already had and even the upgrade wouldn't make sense as that 2nd line had a Blackberry Bold. It took it over two weeks and about 10 calls to get my plan back to what it was. Apparently they do little things here and there but wouldn't completely fix it. Quite irritating.

I was thinking with all this going on I should be able to use this as sort of leverage for getting devices at a great price or can just end up leaving and filing a complaint. The prices they offered me so far was the HTC One S for $199, S2 for $150, and S3 for $280 with $100 instant rebate for each as a full upgrade. The main line is eligible for upgrade in 4 months, I'd think I could get something for that line too. Think more could be done or that's the best thing?
    700 FamilyTalk Mins plus free N/W for 2 lines-$59.99
    Blackberry Data,Android Data-$19.99 each
    Unlimited Family Txt-$9.99
    Free Mobile to Mobile
    Free Myfaves for both lines
    12% Discount
    $110/mth. Love T-Mobile.

    Just a couple points:
    1) Was the upgrade performed at an official T-mobile store or an authorized reseller? In either case, it's difficult to put the blame on one sole person. Is it the rep's fault? Possibly, but how would the CSR know that he was dealing with a scam artist rather than Mr. JMillion? I am saying this because it is difficult to blame T-mobile for this. Since the check bounced, did you request a copy of the check to see what the name and address is?

    2) You can get the best deals by talking to Loyalty. Call T-mobile and after entering your number and last 4 of SSN, say "cancel". Here are some deals I have gotten recently. HTC One S and Galaxy S2 free of charge, waived upgrade fee, free shipping. And Galaxy S3 for $180, waived upgrade fee, waived shipping.

they didn't seem to be too sure. And I mean whether its a store or dealer. As per tmobile themselves you shouldn't be able to add a additional authorized user to a account without speaking to the account holder which they confirmed. No I didnt request a copy of the check I think I was so concerned with getting my account back together.

Yea they offered me the Galaxy S3. It was pay $280 then $100 would be credit towards the account.

Um...you said an auth user made these changes, this means you authorized this person to make changes on your account. This is no way an error on tmobile's behalf. If what you said is true, then you should be thanking tmobile for fixing the damage your authorized user did, and not trying to get anything special for a change that was authorized by someone on your account.

When you add a auth user to your account, they can do pretty much everything except, open/cancel lines, add another auth user, do change of responsibility, act split/consolidation, add remove an account password.

Do you really not pay attention to your account when you get a statement each month and not notice that there was a change? It's not as if T-Mobile does stuff to your account without noting it on your monthly statement.

If the person was not authorized to make changes to your account I would write them a business letter demanding that the account be restored to its status quo ante period. Nothing less would suffice.

Read his post. He said someone got access to his account. I don't think he'd be wondering and surprised if his old college buddy who was an authorized user burned him. I think it has been clearly painted that the OP didn't know this person and never gave additional access to them.
