Premium Number Swap - Is it worth the trouble?

    Hey guys,

I just found out I got an internship overseas so I won't be in the country and won't be using my phone. I'm not sure when I'll be back so I want to transfer my plan to a friend who'd finish out the contract. The only thing is that I want to keep my existing number so I opened up another line with TELUS that is prepaid. Basically, what I want to do is swap the numbers between both accounts and then have my friend takeover the postpaid line.

Now the number on the postpaid line was ported in and I think it originally belonged to FIDO, so I believe it's tricky.

I've been searching Hofo and it seems my options are:

    1) Attempt a Premium Number Swap
    2) Port out and back into the prepaid line and then have TELUS reactivate the postpaid line (Would do they do that and waive the ECF?)

So, what do you guys think I should do?
    Any input is appreciated!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Bold 9900: Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9900; en) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.391 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

You've listed both available options. Some would argue that option 2 is cheaper and easier to accomplish.

Option 1. More money, greater chance of success
Option 2. Cheaper, lower chance of success

Took me 20 minutes on the phone, I was pretty surprised how easy it was. The number swap worked even though my original postpaid line was from FIDO and I also checked to make sure both phones work. Kudos to TELUS!
