Does anyone know if there is an app or some way to alert you when you exceed your messaging limit? I know I can go online to view current detail thru myatt.
Look for an app from your carrier that gives usage information. Your profile says you use AT&T, so the app you want is myAT&T.
Keep in mind that the number of texts the web site or that app report may be delayed by as much as a day. So if you see, say, 50 messages and sent about 10 today, figure about 60.
The disadvantage of myAT&T is the app unfortunately lets you store your phone number and password for quick login. I say “unfortunately,” because even though the password isn’t displayed or accessible, someone who gains access to your phone or steals it could change your account services either maliciously or run up charges.
The My AT&T app also has the addition of an alpha-numerical "Wireless Passcode" that is separate from your account password, so if one chooses to store their account password for quick access, there is the availability of additional passcode security.
One could always just dial *DATA# with a GSM iPhone and get a text of data usage including messages used.
Q: Would you patronize a streetwalker?
A: No, I would treat her as an equal.
Oh good to know about the delay - I didn't realize that. Thanks guys!
