Best Dumphone to use on Page Plus

Hello. One of my family members wants a dumphone and wants me to activate it on Page Plus on the 12 plan. But I don't really know lots of good dumphones ( Smartphone type of guy ) The dumphone just has to have a number pad keeping it simple (no texting pad, etc). What's the best dumb phone with the best reception, that's not that thick, the cheapest, and where can I find it? ( It doesn't matter if its old) Thanks

The early LG line was rock solid, fairly large keys, good reception & battery life. Start with the 5100/8100/8200. They are all "flip open" clam-shell types (just flip open to answer, close to hang-up. You can buy them now (no auction required) on EBay for less than $25.

I think the best performer is the Motorola V3m RAZR (Nokia is also great performers but corporate Nokia has some heartburn with CDMA.) The RAZR is pretty thin and easy to buy for $25 on eBay.

That said, I like LG, especially the VX5400 for about $12. Not real thin, though. The VX3300 is also not very thin, but the swap meets have lots of them for $5 each.

You'll probably want a new battery with an older phone.
    Regards, FJ

I like the old Motorola dumbphones. One of my employees is still using an old Motorola W385 and I have the V325 as a backup. The E815 has a cult following and some people feel that it's the best dumbphone available for reception, battery life, features, ect. I would agree, but I don't like that two-prong power cord that doesn't make a good connection to the handset, so I give the E815 a thumbs-down despite what you'll read here and elsewhere. I agree also about the RAZR. A RAZR with the extended (fat) battery is about as good as you'll get for what you want.
Last of the voice-only dumbphone users.

I have a Motorola W385 and it's a good Pageplus phone. It does have a simple browser and good battery life. I only stuck it in my drawer because I wanted more features. The browser does not eat up any data. By which I mean 0 data. You can't get brew apps with this phone on Pageplus. Being a flip style you don't get pocket dialing.

    From CNET:
The good: The Motorola W385 has a sturdy, user-friendly design, great call quality, and integrated Bluetooth support.
The bad: The Motorola W385 has a low-resolution internal display and average photo quality.
The bottom line: The Motorola W385 is a dependable cell phone without confusing bells and whistles.

Ditto on LG flip phones. I've inherited a number from relatives on post paid who upgraded and was always satisfied.

You can't go wrong with the LG flip phones. LG has a very reliable line of flip phones that I've seen friends beat up and expose to water with no issues. The Motorola W385 is a good flip phone as well. The nice thing is that you can get them for such a great price nowadays, so you can easily try out a few different ones without busting your budget.
