Apps aren't a problem. There's over 100,000, which is more than iOS had when it became really popular for app usage.
The word 'Pentaband' means '5 Bands', from the Greek word 'pente' meaning '5'. For a phone to be pentaband it has to support 5 bands. If the phone has AWS support, it doesn't automatically mean that it is pentaband. The reason Wind and Mobilicity users like pentaband phones is because the reverse is true. We're not the only ones who like pentaband phones though, so please stop referring to phones that work on Wind and Mobilicity as pentaband. It causes unnecessary cofusion.

and there are some people are have given WP a chance, but they say the OS is like a house where there are no light fittings or finishings (ie everything is half finished)

I think you mean general generalization of WP.

You wanna talk clones, lets count Fart apps on Android! That entire O/S is a knock-off of Windows 3.11...

Tons of people develop for WP and get paid for it as well. Even IOS had a chicken/egg problem at the start.

I wish that WP7 and WP8 in the future becomes a strong force to be reckoned with. I don't see it happening, but I really wish that it would. If my HTC Trophy was capable of a few more things, I would more than likely drop my BlackBerry for it. I just can't do it as of now. I tried, and tried hard. I will sit and wait for 7.8 to come out, and hope that it works on this old HTC device.
    Menh...it will come

    Slacker is better anyways...

    Upload what exactly?

WP wirelessly syncs your music over Wi-Fi while it is charging.

It also automagically uploads your photos, e-mail, and office documents to the cloud.

It backs up your media, video, and photos to your Zune software on your PC.

I don't want it to upload files using the mobile network and waste bandwidth. Like I want to upload music, PDF files, unknown file types time the cloud using only Wi-Fi.

I recall reading that WP phones lose their WiFi connection when the screen turns off. Is this the case?

That and I read somewhere that windows phone can't upload using Wi-Fi. I know that's a dumb statement, but with the features that windows phone lack ( like copy & paste, I know that issue is resolved now ). I began to question if can stay on wi fi and upload.

If you're going to get a WP7 phone and not wait for WP8, I suggest you take a look at the Lumia 900.

If you could find it a low price get a titan : i purchased one off craigslist and today I was impressed but i only paid 100. Waiting would be smart unless you find one that justifies the price. A samsung focus flash would not be something I would get.

I experience this with my HTC Trophy, and trying to stream music from the garbage Pandora knock off app that I mentioned. Not sure if it is the wifi or that app, but it disconnects shortly after the screen dims.

The size and screen are good, but I still think it's too expensive. $200-$250 outright is a good price to pay for a phone you don't expect to be getting any updates. I don't expect Lumia 900 owners to be disappointed, they have a great phone right now, but the Lumia 710 is just a much better bang for buck.

But the phone has only 3g, all tethering other specs are the same. So I don't know what your talking about.
