If I had reasonable data speeds, I'd probably just use SIP as my primary connection on my phone, and then long distance would be a lot less valuable. But it's not like you can get unlimited SMS and unlimited data from anyone else for $40/month. And I still want to be able to answer my phone anywhere and have any length of conversation, since people might not call my SIP number.

If it wasn't for my 50% discount on Rogers I switch back to wind in a heartbeat.
Yeah I guess we do have a small pool to look at in these forumsPersonally I've had a very good experience with data speed and connection(avg of 3Mbps dl) and call quality is good as well. The only time that I wish I had the big 3 coverage is when I go out of Calgary to the rocky mountains since they have no coverage there at all which is a shame. But people Obviously should do what is best for them

I think we may see LTE with koodo later this year. They do just use Telus' network so hopefully we see it at one point. Right now I'm ok sacrificing LTE to get a canada-wide plan, UL incoming and CID/VM included. The nice thing is that it's easy to jump around while having no contract.
That's been a gripe for me the past 4 months. Downloading attachments or using cloud storage apps to retrieve and share files has been a constant popular request lately, and it's next been difficult to put it politely.
I've just finished signing up, a line with Koodo, I didn't bite for the $60 promo, because every good incumbent knows, just like the old $17.30 plan TELUS offered in 2007, that 200 minutes always leads to overages (even with unlimited incoming and 6pm/5pm E&w). Especially when billing by the minute round up the minutes, which Koodo recently started doing to.$12~ more (give or take) may be worth limited minutes, no unlimited LD and Super Fast LTE Speed (tm) to some but hey, my friend who is with Rogers constantly complains about how slow Rogers LTE is (he's exchanged his phone multiple times, as well as SIM).
That means Rogers LTE must be garbage everywhere for everyone! Run for the hills to Bell Canada!
I'm going to keep my WIND line dormant for the foreseeable future. It will instantly stop roaming.
Took Koodo on the $50 unlimited nationwide calling, + 2GB data and unlimited texting. = $80
According to WIND I don't use more than 1.2GB's of data a month, but I'm hoping that can change with some consistently good connection speeds.
I will stick to my 2 HMPs for 2 reasons:
1- I'm happy with WIND RECEPTION in the most places I'm.
2- I'm still paying less than big 3
3- Super Plan includes only 250 minutes
Line 1 WIND:
$40 Holiday Miracle Plan
Unlimited CA/US Call, MMS, Data, Int. Text
Line 2 WIND:
$40 Holiday Miracle Plan
Unlimited CA/US Call, MMS, Data, Int. Text
= $75 + HST
+1. I'm very happy with WIND within the Calgary city limits but it's quite frustrating when the coverage stops dead in its tracks the minute you try to leave the city. There is NO excuse for not covering Airdrie, Cochrane, Springbank, Okotoks, Langdon & Strathmore at the VERY least. Give me that and Banff/Canmore and I'm VERY happy.
LOL, I don't think I will be, that data would have been better at 4-6GB and I'd be content.
Oh well, we'll see, it's nice to be back on iOS.... much nicer.
And I'm still going to hold onto the WIND plan for a bit, but I leave WIND with greater disappointment for not living up to the ideals they put in my head... I thought it was reasonable for a company to want to be transparent and honest, have empowered reps at the store level and on the phone, and plans that weren't subject to too much crazy fine print.
Maybe in another 30 years when Canada tries to stimulate this industry again, we can hope for better.
Can i use the new 6gb Plan?
