Explain - are you talking about unlimited calling plus a dat addon or the $60 250 minutes with data included?

I decided that with the Fav 10 - I would have 7 free slots that I could make LD Canada wide calls when necessary.

The unlimited calling $50 plan plus a data add on.

Also Koodo is alright if you buy phones outright like I did on wind as well. Tab/contracts just encourage a system of increasing fees everywhere. I know I'm not going to change that but I got to stick to my guns.

The main reason I went with Koodo is because of their no contract and VM included - Canada wide is gravy. I'll test it out for a couple of months and then decide whether to get rid of the HMP. I don't need/want the latest greatest smartphone, so getting a phone at the cost of signing a 3yr contract is not for me.

Interesting though, when I talked to the reps at the Koodo booth, they said it hasn't been that busy for them signing up people to this 6GB plan. I guess it's all relative, but someone who is used to paying a lot more will likely see these $60 plans and jump, whether it be to Bell/Telus/Rogers.

If I dump one of my 2 Mobilicity lines and pick up a $65 Telus line it would cost me $50 more per month. Plus I would take a contract and get a $500 discount on a phone - bringing the actual cost down to $35/mo. in reality.

So I would then have 2 phones for a total of $95/mo (minus $15 for the new phone) for 60 mins free roaming, unlimited North America calling and text, and all that extra stuff from Mobi. as well as the 6 GB Galaxy lte and an lte phone from Bell or Telus.

Isn't it worth $95/mo (free phone included) for all that?

Why would anyone sign with Koodo for the same price with no good free phone?

By the way - 2 plans with Mobi = $47/mo - 2 plans with Wind for less service would cost $75 not counting the tab thing.

I liked Wind - but there's no way they compete with Mobilicity price-wise.

All I can see on the Koodo website for data addon is $20 for 1 GB and $30 for 3GB.

The only reason I would consider one of these deals is for the data and for LTE which requires a new phone.

A 3 year contract is just a way of financing a new phone BUT - they make the payments. If you want to cancel - then you pay it off. You still are just buying a new phone as long as they aren't really overpriced compared to buying it outright in the first place.

No - I would make them buy me a phone to make it worth it.

I would still keep my $30 unlimited everything plan with Mobi for all the calls I need.

Would have been great if the Govt reserved some
700 MHz spectrum for a 4th player. Just like the UK govt has reserved some 800 MHz spectrum in their upcoming lte 4g auction

However we all know that Govt sided with the incumbents, despite them having an abundance of spectrum.

Would never be allowed to happen in the EU

I thought the government did set some spectrum aside for them? Also in the EU the Government owns the spectrum and whoever wants to pay can get as much or as little as they want. IF that was done here Wind would still be stuck in the rabbit hole because they have no money. The fact is Wind is in need of a serious rethink. Look at this new company coming to Canada. (Lycamobile) They piggy back on a established carrier and sell long distance to people and make a mint and then who knows... bid on some spectrum themselves perhaps.

Lycamobile.........oh please. That competes with Petro and calling cards. Its not really a mobile company.

That's like comparing shuffleboard to road hockey.

Now Now.. from what the website says 8 million subs, 22 million calls a day 25 countries ( 2013 prediction ) in 2011 1.1 billion in profits.. On paper they seem pretty good. Having used them in Germany I can say the service worked just treat. Yes you are right shuffleboard. The seem to be profitable, not a bad business model. Much like Winds yak.. just profitable.

Oh look a Lycamobile Limo move the nets. Or you guys using your Wind phones to mark the goal posts again?

All in fun chum yeah.. all in fun!

Don't mean to hijack this thread but looking for some help here...

I'm currently with Wind on the $35 AITF plan and am fed up with their data connection.

I'm looking for something more reliable around $40 with approximately 150-200 mins (+ evenings and weekends) + cid (vm is not a must but would be nice to have) + 1gb of data. Anyone know of any good plans?

    Thanks in advance!
