I just got into the smartphone scene lately. I currently have a Samsung Infuse on StraightTalk. I have email set up along with facebook, etc. I have it set up so it will automatically check for new FB posts and email.
Since I use my phone as an alarm clock and also in case of emergency phone calls at night, I don't want to turn it off while I sleep. Is there any sort of app that will make my mobile data and wifi "sleep" at night so I won't get notifications all thru the night? I don't want to have to go in and change settings for each of these every morning and night. Thanks.

Try Handy Profiles. You can schedule to turn on/off phone settings (wifi, gps, data, sync, white/blacklist callers etc).
