my fiancee has a Captivate and I have an Infuse. Both from cowboom.com. You just have to buy charger from amazon. I like motorola's and its less than $5 shipped prime.

both are mint condition. I am very happy with cowboom. Ebay has the highest price, and people are unreasonable on craigslist. Sometime you can get lucky on craigslist, but most of the sellers jack up the price way too much.

I have purchased items from cowboom before and had no problems. If I recall correctly they are a discout center for returns from either Bestbuy or Amazon.

This is so true. I looked for almost a month before finding my Atrix 4g off CL for $125 and it was practically new. The lady had all the books, cables, charger, etc. and they hardly looked touched.

Before that though I'd see people asking $200-$250 for it. Things like the Infuse they wanted even more at times. Hell, even a few weeks ago I was looking for stuff on craigslist and people want $300 for a used Galaxy Nexus. It can be had new, with warranty, for only $50 with no risk.

I don't know why craigslist has become this place where people feel they can and should get top dollar for their used crap. It's a free clasifieds, not the nice refurb shop down the street that has customer service and warranties their used wares for peace of mind.

^Yeah. I made the mistake of buying an HTC G2 that was in horrible condition for $150 off of CL. It was really banged up, which I honestly didn't mind, but then when I got home and started using it more it had a boot loop issue whenever I turned on wifi. On the other hand I have gotten some good deals as well, including a near mint Xperia Arc S for $140.

They have a great deal right now on the HTC Vivid, I was originally going to buy it there for $275 but I went the eBay route to save a few bucks. Now the Vivid is like $213 for White, which is a STEAL! I think its also safer now since ST is blocking stolen phones and with eBay used phones, you can never really be too sure.

Cowboom is a Best Buy company but I've never been able to confirm where the products actually come from. Maybe it's phones that people trade in when purchasing a new phone? It can't be all returns since their rating system goes from a scale of 1 - 9 and the descriptions of 1 - 4 would have to mean the phone went through some serious use. I've never personally seen a pre-owned product on their site with a condition grade higher than 6.

Here is thier condition grade scale:

    1 Item is physically broken
2 Item is cracked or dented
3 Item has dents or dings
    4 Significant scratches or scuffs
5 Some scratches and/or signs of use
6 Some fine scratches or minor scuffs
    7 Overall good condition
8 Almost new, minor signs of use
    9 Like New

At least looking at the pictures it seems that many times they actually aren't in half bad condition. Is it possible that they may alter the photos slightly?

I have purchased about 6 phones from Cowboom so far and no issues at all. I think the chino, ca location is a little more conservative in their grade assignment and description. The Flower, TX place has Grade 6 phones with major scratches on the screen. I usually buy the Droid X for friends so they can use it on PagePlus the $55 plan. Also got two Atrix 2 phones and one was a Grade 7 which looked like new. Another Atrix 2 was grade 6 and no physical damage either.

You really have to read the descriptions very carefully. The pics from the Chino, CA location seem to be pretty accurate.

Return policy is great too as it is free return shipping and full refund within the 30 days of purchase. I feel more comfortable buying from Cowboom then Fleabay or CL.

That's good to know. Ebay always scares me and well we all know about CL - it's a gamble. I haven't checked, but what's shipping like for cowboom or do they give you options depending on your shipping needs?

According to their site Ground shipping is free and that appears to be the only option.

I prefer cl because you can physically get to turn on the device .. Put your sim in make calls.. Check for water damage(sensors). I was able to trade my iPhone 3GS and $80 for a 16 gig iPhone 4. I just bought a iPhone 4 32 gig with a cracked screen and an inflated battery(overheated) plugged it to my car charger and everything powered up like normal. I just have to swap out the parts batt/screen that I will get for $50 and the phone cost me $50.. I'll make a pretty buck out of it or maybe go custom and keep it sell my 16 gig put like $100 for a 4s. Cl is the best option IMHO

Anyone notice Cowboom's phone selection severaly decreased recently? I just went to their site today and the only options are the BB Bold, BB Torch, a Samsung, & an HTC. I wonder what happened? Just a couple of weeks ago they a large selection of Atrix & Atrix 2's.

It varies from day to day and sometimes hour to hour. I was on there a couple of weeks ago and they had 2 HTC phones. Checked later that same day, and they had 38 of them. However, I've never seen it where they only have 4 phones total like now.
