^I said that it's an opportunity for carriers to force plans to be changed - which it is. Rogers forced you to upgrade to LTE plans. Bell took away grandfathered unlimited data plans. Why do you think it's "mass hysteria" to claim that Fido may do the same?
It isn't even technically necessary to have an "LTE SIM card" is it? So why would carriers want you to get one, unless they are trying to tell you that they don't view LTE identically to how they view 3G?
What kind of speeds can we expect with LTE, I know the theoretical max is 75Mbps so is it safe to assume to we can expect high 20's low 30's for download speeds. I still have another year and a half before my contract is up and I can get a LTE phone.

Wow those speeds are awesome, my home internet maxes out at 14Mbps. Hoping LTE chips advance in future phones so they don't slaughter battery like they do currently. Otherwise in my opinion on smart phones Battery > LTE

Can you elaborate a bit on these special applications? Are they necessary for somebody wanting to use LTE, or do they enhance your use of LTE somehow?
Or is it more like, "carriers are now using a new LTE APN, which isn't pre-programmed into older generation SIM cards" - which would lead back to my previous point which is that it is not technically necessary, it's only necessary because carriers made it so.
By the way I'm not trying to be ignorant - I'm here to learn.![]()
You dont really need to educate people. Less people know about LTE. Less people on the LTE network. More bandwith speed for me! bru-hah-hah!
Maybe the first LTE phone will be the iPhone 5 ?
