    does back-office exist?

ok here is the situation, I had a number on Wind and it got cancelled two days ago, I am trying to retrieve the number prior to it returing in the pool. I emailed Wind, no response, I called Wind at least 8 times to speak with the back office to get the problem resolved, but the cutomer service reps I have spoken too advise me there is no way to o help me and there is NO BACK OFFICE that can assist me nor is there a direct number or extension to this back office. Is there anyone that can assist with this so called back office IS there a back office?

    Thanks HFers

Does anyone know how to get ahold of backoffice or get them to call you? This is crazy that now they're denying it's existence... or did it actually get canned?

I only called in once to get to back office and it was to transfer my 2010 HMP to Pay After in February of this year. I explained the situation initially to customer service and when they said they were unable to help me, I requested to be transferred to the back office. A few minutes after that and I was talking to them.

My understanding is that once a number has been cancelled, it is not possible to retrieve the number under any circumstance. The number is suspended for 90-days before it can be released into the pool of numbers.

Not true. A member on hofo lost his number on mobilicity. I asked him to email the CCO and as far as I know, they got it back for him. So I have seen it being done.

Thanks for the update! In otherwords... some higher-power must intervene.

No, I know first hand it can be done for sure on WIND (and any other network) with out needing the attention of an executive. It may require a department manager's look-in or authorization, but can be done. Hell when WIND lost my number porting from TELUS 2.5 years ago, it went back in TELUS' pool... instead of arguing or getting mad, I used my existing hardware, called up to explain how I lost my number by accidentally cancelling the account, they looked up my previous billing info, saw it was me, put it on prepaid and back to WIND i ported for a second attempt. (This was when WIND just allowed for porting after the fact... I think they weren't set-up for it yet until weeks after launch.)

Same deal on WIND with a buddy of mine, got an awesome 647 700 number, lost it due to lack of top-up, called back and got it restarted by Back Office. It's do-able. But only if you seem to get this magic department.
