    Question about YouTube

I am traveling on business in China now, and when I use vpn to visit Youtube, there are always loading, and sometimes even failing to access. I have tried several vpn without anyimprovement; do you have any good recommendation?

Just a thought, maybe the Chinese cellular provider is blocking access to that site. If that is the case, there is nothing you can do.
If I'm annoyed and you're annoyed, does that make us a paranoid ??

    YouTube is blocked in China.

A: No, I would treat her as an equal.

Connect with the VPN, then change the DNS settings to something like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

If it is a cellular connection, you should jailbreak and install GuizmoDNS(in cydia) to allow changing of the cellular DNS servers.

If one doesn't want to Jail Break, they can always just use Apple's iPhone Configuration Utility to change DNS. It's a free download from Apple for both Mac and Windows OS from support downloads.

You cannot add DNS entries for Cellular or Wifi in Apple's iPhone Configuration Utility. You only need to change it manually in the Wifi settings for Wifi DNS, but for Cellular the only way to change DNS is to jailbreak and install GuizmoDNS(can manage both cellular and wifi)

Correct me if I am wrong, though I thought GSM cell phones use APN or Access Point Name. The APN defines the packet data network one wants to connect to. EVDO cell phones use DNS servers.

It doesn't matter, the only way you can change the DHCP assigned DNS on either GSM or CDMA cellular data on a iPhone is to jailbreak and use GuizmoDNS. Has nothing to do with APN or NAI(CDMA or 1xRTT/EVDO)

There might be a way to use a backup explorer to edit a plist containing the cellular DNS settings, then restore with the edited backup, but have yet to see anyone do such for a non-jailbroken iPhone and there could be a problem when DHCP assigns another address, the DNS could revert back to the carrier DNS again despite the edit of the plist.

Youtube will not optimize users’ visit to some country, I think the key point is the vpn server by your choice. If you are in Asia, the server located in west of US will be much better. I am using the product on popvpn.com, which has the server located in Los Angeles, and you can have a try.
