So it's basically....the form factor of the Optimus V, slightly faster (600mhz -> 800mhz), and stock Gingerbread for cheaper than the Optimus V.

Seems like a pretty good deal to me.

Its pushing almost the same specs as the optimus elite, but the smaller screen, less camera.. other then that.. its a great backup phone.

I'm curious how it performs. The Optimus V was top notch in GPS and reception.

Interesting little phone. I like the price point on it for sure... def a side grade for the optimus V, sacrificing screen size with a better stock OS and slightly faster cpu. Also no silly 100 megs of storage to fight with. Camera is still probably useless. Infact it really makes it harder to suggest the elite because the elite isn't really giving you a cpu upgrade.. you get a slightly bigger screen and a better camera. Not quite worth an additional $70.

The elite has a ARMv7 the chaser has a ARMv6. The elite is also clocked 200MHz higher.

All the spec sites I checked with say they are both 800mhz.

The one V is 1ghz. I also couldnt find what cpu the elite was using.

Even if it were an ARMv7>ARMv6. You also get a better graphics processor (Adreno 200 on the Chaser v. Adreno 205 on the Elite).

The Elite is a Arm v7 clocked at 1ghz. Somebody released the wrong specs.

The chaser does seem to be priced pretty good. Its about where it should be for its specs, not over $100 like some of the other lower end offerings (or the way they used to be priced).

Yup, I agree. The price is perfect and I hope they keep it there.

I say, that looks like a solid deal, if the thing works properly.
I notice that it doesn't say who the manufacturer is.

Pretty cool. Someone's got to take one for the team. Buy one and report back.

I find it ironic how they kept the brand name off (more like bland name, huh huh.) It would be a little nicer if Virgin Mobile stopped trying to release phones that are basically identical in function (Optimus V, Optimus Elite, Chaser, iPhone 4S) and started giving their customers a little variety, but who knows what's going through their minds...
