Can anyone briefly outline the differences in the current plans and these new plans? I know that in the $40, VM will now be included. The current $25 plan will jump to $29 for what?

Highrises often have better reception than the ground floor. This is because the effective distance between the tower and yourself is shorter, hence decreasing r-squared losses.
edit: Also, cell towers project outward, being right underneath a cell tower may make things worse.

Looks like unlimited data instead of 100MB is the big change.
Of course, since none of this is official yet, it's impossible to really compare with any accuracy - all we can do is speculate based on what we know now, which isn't much.

Hi everyone,
I used to be on a Rogers retention plan but I was able to transfer it to someone else a few days ago since I was interested in signing up with Wind. I'm only learning of the possibility of a $29/mth plan now (which would work out a lot better given my needs), and I was hoping you guys would be able to help me out. Should I wait until this plan (or a BTS) comes out before signing up? Or should I just sign up for the 25/40 plan now and then switch over once and if a promo plan comes out? Thanks.
Wind noob question here...So for this plan as long as I stayed around the 10GBs (or they slowed my speed after that) and teathered they wouldn't mind?
I was looking at the $35 data stick plan but if this is cheaper and a locked in price it'd be worth the $61 extra to buy the cheap Android phone they have instead of a data stick...
You probably do not want to tether with a crappy phone. Android or otherwise.

Wind charges current customers $20 (or is it $25 now?) to switch to promo plans. If the $29 plan is a limited time, you might get hit with that. Personally, I'd wait until the details come out.
5GB, unless you pay the extra 10GB for the premium data addon.

Yes, the new $29 plan will be a limited time promotion only.
Thanks for getting back to me you guys. I really appreciate it. Matt, do you have any approximation or guess as to when this promo will be launched?

I wish I still had the fine print on the $100 port-in credit I got this Spring. I think I have to be on a $40 plan to continue to receive the $10/month discount but I'm wondering if the new $40 plan would still qualify. Switching to the $29 plan isn't that attractive if I lose the monthly credit (though that will expire early next year while the $29 would be for life) and have to pay close to $200 of my tab down. It would take almost 2 years after my credit expires just to break even with staying on the $40 plan.
