Interesting...dealers always say it's system-enforced and there's nothing they can do about it.

No need to bash your head; the reps you are speaking with have no discretion with regards to these fees; as far as you're concerned, it is system enforced. When I say "dealer discretion", I mean "the owner of the dealer's discretion". Also, this only applies for franchise dealers, and National Retail (Glentel, FS, BB).

Maybe you need to start working with a better dealer that can facilitate your needs

In all honesty..they should honor this price for wasting ur time. But seriously can't Bell afford to offer him this price just to keep him as a customer rather than lose him.

The onus is on Wireless Wave to correct the action. I can tell you now that WW likely won't be able to fix this. Bell was misrepresented by WW and Bell should be deducting this from WW's commission if they have to correct it for them.

I have seen my fair share of franchise dealer errors between the carriers during my tenure in the industry. It is VERY difficult to convince the carrier to fix it, even when everyone admits the dealer mucked up; especially when the client has signed a service agreement stating ($53 + $12) and no where on that SA did it state "free CID and VM". That is the legal contract the client has with Bell and that is what would hold up in court. These "materials" that may be listed on the SA were not created by Bell and I'm not sure to what latitude Bell would be held liable (beyond their name being on the flyer, Bell had nothing to do with that flyer or its creation).

WW has an escalation path they can take with Bell internally; but it likely won't yield in favor of the client unless WW is basically willing to hand Bell $432 ($12 x 36 month) of their compensation to pay for this feature. WW would be better off cancelling the contract (it would cost them less than paying up the $432). I also doubt WW's liason to Bell is willing to fix this from their budget...again, it is only 1 client, 1 user, 1 plan.

WW, offer the client a free 3 year warranty and some accessories, and that'll be that...

Honestly the best way to avoid screw ups is to avoid dealers like Wireless Wave and Telephone Booth and to make friends with a worker or two at a Bell store. I always go to my local bell store during the hours that a certain worker is there. He's always helpful and he knows me and my family(he just helped save my grandmother $34 a month on her home phone), never have had any issues and I'm sure any issues that might arise in the future would be sorted out promptly.

Definitely agree. When I worked retail at the other carriers, I had my "client base" and often had referrals sent my way due to my consistent service. Now in the Corporate World, I apply those skills to the larger-client bases and always make sure that everyone remains satisfied.

Anyhow, thanks for your constant, useful input. Much appreciated, even while I watch from the sidelines most days.

If you can't find the deals, you might just end up paying full price...

The printout is written by Glentel / Wireless Wave and clearly says ON at top of flyer
Incoming promo was only AB / BC, not ON
It is sad I need to state the obvious but some people just don't get it. Any posts I make are my own OPINIONS and in no way represent the views of my employer

Yes but read the fine print blow. There are quite a few inconsistencies with the flyer

Thanks for all the replies guys. Seems like I'll be going back down to Toronto tomorrow and cancelling this. I *could* afford the $65, but it's a matter of principle now. I don't like getting screwed like this.

^Well...before you cancel, is there anything other than A Bill Credit or a "Financial Credit from WW" that you would accept instead? Perhaps worth discussing with the sales manager @ the store.

E.G., free extended warranty? free accessories? zero out the price of your SGSIII [this would probably be a last resort as this hits their bottom line directly]? Things like that, WW has full discretion of...

Really what you want is something in the value of $12 x 36 (or rather $7 x 36 as that is the smallest bundle that includes CD and VM Mini). So based on $12 = $432 + tax or based on $7 = $252 + tax.

Since you want to cancel based on principle, to what extent would you be willing to bend of WW could find another, non Bell involved method of solving your situation? Do you want to be made whole 100% or are there other things they could offer? (e.g., Free phone + free warranty is nearly $250-$300 in savings).
